Clarksburg’s boundaries are not officially defined, but roughly belted by West Old Baltimore Road to the south, Old Hundred Road to the west, Little Bennett Regional Park to the north, and Little Seneca Creek and Kings Valley Road to the east. Germantown and later Gaithersburg border the area to the south, Barnesville to the west, Hyattstown and Damascus to the north, and Laytonsville to the east.

Located in nearby Germantown, this shopping mall has Kohl’s, Wal-Mart, Target, Giant, and Home Depot among other retailers. For dining out, check out Agrodolce. This Italian restaurant offers pastas, wood-fired pizzas, subs and an extensive wine and craft beer list.
Little Bennett Regional Park is the largest natural park in Montgomery County and dominates most of Clarksburg. This 3,700-acre park features over 20 miles of trails, an abundance of native plants and animals, meadows, streams and the county’s only camping facility.
Black Hill Regional Park sits to the south of the community on Lake Ridge Drive. This 2,000-acre park surrounds Little Seneca Lake. There are picnic tables, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and trails. Residents love bringing their boats on the lake, and boat rentals are also available. The lake also has a pier and is a hotspot for fishermen. The solitude of the forest can also be explored by miles of trails by foot, bike, or horse.
Traveling Around Clarksburg
Most Clarksburg residents rely on their own automobile to get around the community and to nearby cities and districts. I-270 bisects the area and is a main focal point for anyone leaving and going to Clarksburg. Route 355 is a major non-highway route that travels north-to-south. Traveling on this route towards the north will take you to Frederick and traveling south can take you past Germantown and into Gaithersburg. Ride On offers plenty of bus routes throughout the community, for those who prefer public transportation.
